These Fall Rice Krispie Treats are a great sweet dessert bar that will get you ready for fall. They are yummy with autumn colors!
Are you guys excited as I am for Fall? I just love seeing all the beautiful colors and leaves and wish I could be seeing it in person, but alas in South Florida only a few trees lose their leaves and the ones that do are like the tree in my front yard.
It does it all year and is constantly dropping tiny leaves on my clean car and driveway. I still appreciate all the beautiful photos people are sharing on Instagram and have decided to make a concentrated effort to bring the fall feel into my home with awesome fall decorations and foods like these dessert bars – my Fall Confetti Treats.
Easy Fall Dessert Bars
These dessert bars use some Rice Krispies, Dried Apricots, Rainbow Shredded Coconut, and Dried Maraschino Cherries to give the fall look and delicious flavor.
Oh man, I wish I could send each of you a piece of these. They are so good. Do yourself a favor and go pick up a box of Rice Krispies, get out your bag of marshmallows, and whip up a batch of these things!
Can you use fresh fruit in the dessert bars?
You definitely need to use dried fruit instead of fresh fruit for this recipe. This is because of the texture. The texture of fresh fruit will make the Rice Krispies treats softer. The dried fruit leaves the treats chewier.

How to Make Easy Fall Dessert Bars Step By Step
These are super easy to make. But here are some step-by-step pictures to helo you along!
These are the ingredients you are going to use. I always set aside a little bit to snack on. They are just so colorful and sweet! Feel free to add other dried fruits if you want. I chose the apricots and cherries because they are the same colors as the changing leaves on the trees.
First, you will spray *7×11 (for thick squares, or 9 x 13 for thinner squares) baking pan with baking spray. This is super important! You don’t want them sticking to the pan.
Next, melt butter in a large pot.
Third, add the entire bag of marshmallow and over low heat, slowly melt, continuously stirring. Halfway through melting, add milk.
When it is completely melted, work quickly to add cereal, dried fruit, pecans and coconut. Mix quickly until thoroughly incorporated.
The fifth step is to pour the mixture into the sprayed pan. Quickly wet your hands and push the mixture flat into the pan, smoothing into the corners.
Finally, place in the fridge to cool.
*Note: Makes 12 LARGE squares using the 7 x 11 pan.
