During the holidays, we have a tradition of eating rolls with cheese spread before dinner. Since I had my daughter, I have been working on incorporating healthy ingredients into my holiday traditions. This holiday, I made Cheesy Pesto Avocado Spread with fresh avocado, rosemary & chives from my garden.

I love that the avocado pesto spread is green! It’s perfect for the holidays!! My whole family loves Sister Schubert’s rolls with cheese spread, even my daughter. She is constantly asking for rolls. It has officially become a holiday tradition to make an avocado cheese spread with Sister Schubert Dinner Yeast Rolls during this time of year.

 

 

I love being able to save some time during all the cooking over the holidays and pick up a few bags of Sister Schubert’s Dinner Yeast Rolls. I just bake them as I need them in the resealable freezer bag. They only take 5 to 10 minutes. I found them at Walmart last week. Sister Schubert’s homemade-taste and baking experience have been key ingredients for your family gatherings around the holidays through the years. It’s great to know that these rolls have been a tradition in Sister Schubert’s family for five generations, because the delicious homemade taste and the experience of baking them together with my family has made them a favorite holiday tradition in our house.

 

To make the avocado pesto, put the peeled and pitted the avocado, fresh herbs, cheeses, lemon juice, and salt & pepper into a food processor and blend until smooth.

  1. Peel the avocado and remove the pit.
  2. Add all ingredients into the food processor: avocado, rosemary, chives, shredded parmesan, cream cheese, and freshly squeezed lemon juice.
  3. Throw in salt & pepper to taste.
  4. Cover the food processor and blend until smooth.
  5. Serve cold with Sister Schubert’s Dinner Yeast Rolls.
