When you think fall, normally the first color that comes to mind is black. Get black out of your head and start thinking, Orange is the New Black! Black blazers have been in style for a while now and yours is probably worn out from wearing it too much. Instead of choosing a black blazer, opt for an orange blazer instead. As you can see, orange works with several colors including navy, white, and yellow. I would also suggest pairing it with khaki, slate gray, jeans, almost any blue, and camo print. Camo print is huge for fall, and you will be a trendista in camo jeans and an orange blazer. I recently wore a fall transition outfit comprised of an orange halter turtleneck dress with a camo bag. It was complimented to the hilt.

Macy’s presents Fall’s Five Essentials-key pieces that say fall 2013! Annie aka The Fashion Poet showed the audience 5 fall essentials that will update your wardrobe for fall. It was a great day as I got to hang out with my friend, Jen aka The Rebel Chick. She’s awesome, but I rarely get to see her in person. So glad we got to watch the show together! 🙂 I got my hair done after the show from the mini Blo Bar set up by Macy’s. Check out the difference in hair below.
Fall Outfit of the Day with Camo and Fall Color Paprika styled by April Erhard, Editor in Chief of April Golightly
After reading InStyle’s Color Crash Course in the October 2013 issue, I was dying to put together paprika outfits. InStyle’s editor pointed out that orange is an attention getting color. You should expect to be noticed in paprika. When everyone is wearing neutrals and black this fall, stand out with a spice of paprika. I found this Michael Kors dress at Encore Plus in Boca Raton, Florida. Encore Plus was nice enough to let me borrow it to wear to Tastemakers this week. The paprika and camo combination was a big hit at Tastemakers. This Michael Kors dress is perfect for fall in Florida and fall transition outfits. Hit up Encore Plus to see if it is still available. I just dropped it off today so it might still be there!
First Watch is an amazing breakfast spot that I frequent. I recently tried their new fall menu and wrote a review about it on my new food blog, Palm to Park. The Floridan French Toast is my favorite! It is a sourdough French toast with wheat germ and powdered cinnamon sugar, covered with fresh banana, kiwi and berries. Doesn’t that sound amazing?! Brunch is one of my favorite meals, and I adore dressing up for it. The best part of brunch is getting to wear a day time dress. Day time dresses are truly my first loves in fashion. When I first came to Miami, I had no idea what to wear to clubs. I actually wore a Sunday Brunch dress to a hot club on Lincoln Road. The dress was made of a white textured fabric. I wore it with a light pink snake belt and matching pink sandals. It was a very Lilly Pulitzer look. My good friend from law school never lets me forget about my Sunday Brunch Club outfit and brings it up often. His wife is probably reading this and knows exactly what I am talking about. I love them both even though they poke fun at me more often than not. 😉
My friends and family were recently strolling along the indoor flea market in Coral Spring, Florida when I saw an awesome bathing suit on a mannequin. The Resa accentuates the waist making it look like you are wearing a belt! As soon as I have a waist to accentuate, I am getting one! I was shocked that there was something so high fashion at this event. The designer of Noelle bathing suits recently moved to the area and was getting rid of her sample bathing suits.
