Grilled Peach Salad - Whole30 & Paleo RecipeGrilled Peach Salad Recipe

The ultimate flavors of summer are super sweet fruits and savory herbs. There are so many tastes and textures in this amazing salad. It is so easy to make, only 3 main ingredients. And the best part? Grilling the peaches crystalizes the sugars in the fruit to make them extra crisp and sweet.

How to Grill Peaches & Stone Fruit

Grilling peaches is super simple! The first thing you need to remember is to use peaches that aren’t ripe yet. Peaches get really soft as they ripe and grilling a ripe peach will leave you with something more akin to peach sauce than a grilled fruit.

So, cut your unripe peaches in half. Leave the skins on and pull out the pits

Then, brush the peaches with olive oil. This will give them a crispier finish.

The grill needs to be heated to medium heat.

Finally, grill them cut side down for about 4-5 minutes. Once the grill marks appear, flip them over and grill the other side another 4-5 minutes. Done! What you have now are perfectly grilled peaches.

Grilled Peaches On the Stove

If you want to use your stove instead, that’s simple and this still turns out amazing. I recommend using a grill pan on the stove because that will give you those envious grill marks on the peaches.

Heat the grill pan to medium heat. Grill cut side down for 4-5 minutes. Flip and repeat the process.

The most important thing is to watch the peaches to make sure they don’t burn.

When you make this summer salad, you might already have all the ingredients in your refrigerator. If not, here’s everything you will need:

  • Unripe Peaches
  • Olive Oil
  • Pesto
  • Walnuts

This is literally all you need. It’s a quick trip to the store for sure.

Pesto & Fruit – Perfect Together

When I cook, I love pairing sweet and savory ingredients. And the textures of the grilled peaches are amazing with the creaminess of the homemade pesto. Plus, the salt really enhances the natural sugars in the peaches.

Whole30 Compliant Salad

If you are doing Whole30, then this is a perfect salad to put in your rotation. It is a fun break away from meat and veggies all the time.

Since Whole30 allows whole fruits, the peaches are definitely compliant. Add a dash of cinnamon for a little extra kick. Yes, walnuts are allowed in Whole30. They do say to try and eat them in moderation. So make this salad mostly peaches and less pesto if you are on Whole30.

Paleo Peach Salad

The most important thing about eating Paleo is to eat whole foods. Fruits, herbs, and seeds are all Paleo. Thankfully, walnuts are Paleo-compliant, so enjoy! This is fantastic since they are packed with healthy fats and nutrients.

The Recipe – Grilled Peach Salad

Ingredients

3 Unripe Peaches

2 Tbsp of Pesto

¼ Cup Crushed Walnuts

Avocado Oil Spray or Olive Oil Spray

How to Make a Grilled Peach Salad?

  1. Start with 3 unripe peaches.
  2. Slice the peach around once.
  3. Take opposite sides of the peach and twist it off the pit. I usually can only get one side off of the peach properly. I use a spoon to get the pit out of the other side of the peach.
  4. Heat the grill to low heat about 300 degrees.
  5. Spray the peaches with avocado oil or olive oil.
  6. Grill the peaches for about 15 minutes.
  7. Once the peaches are done with the grilling, let them cool and slice them.
  8. Divide the peaches to 2 serving bowls or plates.
  9. Drizzle pesto over the grilled peaches.
  10. Sprinkle walnuts over the salad too.

Notes

This salad pairs really well with grilled chicken marinated with avocado oil or olive oil and salt. Also, burrata cheese goes well with it too.

If you peaches are already ripe when you make this salad, you do not need to grill them.
