The past few years as my daughter has started school has made all those year of diaper bag toting worth it. Now, she goes to the bathroom by herself and my mom purse has gotten lighter. There are still a few things that I keep on hand just in case, but mostly, I am happy to report that the mom purse is very light and easy to carry.

What’s in My Mom Purse

The Basics

Cellphone, Keys, and Wallet. This is the mantra my husband chants before he leaves the house. Sometimes, that is all I take too. It is possible to leave the house with just these things, I swear!

For a wallet, I have downsized to one that has 5 slots and is about the size of credit card. I keep a couple of cards in there that I use all the time and my driver’s license. The rest of the cards go into a case in my bedroom. I do not need to carry them around all the time with me and you don’t either. Take only the cards that you need or will use. If I plan to go to a wholesale club or a place where I need a special card, I grab it before I leave the house.

Also, I found this really cute holder for my keys to help prevent them from scratching up my phone and everything else in my bag.

Headphones

I love my headphones and every time I leave the house without them, I regret it. Everyday without fail, I want to listen to something like a book, podcast or song on my headphones while I am waiting around or sitting with my daughter outside while she is at the park. I recently got the Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 that I am head over heels in love with! You can choose how noise cancelling they are on the headset. When my daughter is around, I usually don’t cancel the sound because I want to be ready to help her if she needs me. You have all the control over what you hear. Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700

I absolutely love that I can take calls on the Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700. With the adaptive four-microphone system that automatically adapts to your environment to isolate your voice from competing noises so that you can confidently take a call, or talk to your voice assistant, knowing you will be heard clearly and naturally on the other end. My phone can be charging and I can take a call without running to grab it. You can accept or dismiss calls straight from the headphones.  A new touch interface provides intuitive gesture-based controls for managing your content, while three dedicated buttons provide direct access to some of the headphones’ most important features.

You can also use your voice assistants like Siri, Alexa or Google with the headphones as well. Bose worked closely with key partners to integrate wake-up word support right into the headphones. Just say the trigger word for your favorite voice assistant and proceed with your task.

Snacks

I always keep a few snacks for both me and my daughter in my bag. I have been doing the Keto Diet and snacks are key to keeping me on track. Interested in Keto, learn more about the Ketogenic Diet here. They also help keep my daughter happy when she is starting to get a little hangry. My daughter and I both love seaweed snacks so they are always my first choice for snacks to pack in my mom purse.

Water Bottle

Water is key to keeping your child happy on the go. I always carry a FUNtainer Thermos because I know it will not leak or sweat and it keeps my water cold forever (really – up to 12 hours). To keep the cup from leaking, you have to make sure that the top is twisted tight. I usually flip it over a few time and shake it to make sure it will not leak in my purse. I love that they you can replace the straws and interior of the cup if necessary and really clean the cup like no kids cup I have every seen. My daughter’s had some of her cups since she was 3 years old and she just turned 6 last month. Mom and Daughter time

My friend suggested that I try her child’s cup. I trust her advice and it is on my list to try, but I have not tried it yet myself. It is called the Takeya. Between these two cups, you will have a great cup to keep in your mom bag.

Wipes

I still carry wipes with me everywhere even though I am not wiping butts anymore! I keep my wipes in a Huggies wipe clutch that is reusable so that I can refill with about 10 wipes every time I refill. This prevents me from carrying an entire wipe bag around that could have over 100 wipes in it. No way am I lugging that all day. I usually buy Water Wipes and add a little Lavender Oil and Tea Tree Oil drops for extra scent and cleaning on the go.

What’s in your mom bag? Any mom essentials that I need to find room for?
