Why I Love My Instant Pot
I love that you can even make instant pot desserts in the Instant Pot. It is pretty much magic!
Do you remember the first time you used a crockpot?! I do! I thought I could leave it for the whole day when I was at work and have a home cooked meal when I got home. It turns out, I worked too many hours for a slow cooker to work for me. The meat was overdone, and I realized that takeout is the only thing possible for someone who works 7 am to 7 pm. Gone are those days of 7 to 7 out of the house, but I still long for a quick meal.
“I Love My Instant Pot” Recipe Book

It’s something semi-sweet, but not super fattening!! I just need a couple of spoons of sweetness per day to make sure that I don’t dive into a cake during a random sugar craving. What makes this Instant Pot Rice Pudding Deliciously Wholesome?
It’s made with organic short grain brown rice. That’s a big title! Let’s break it down a little.
Organic rice is rice that is certified by an independent body, to have been grown and processed according to set “organic” standards. Short grain rice indicates grains that are less than twice as long as they are wide. When cooked, it will be chewier and stickier than its longer grained counterparts. Brown rice is unpolished rice with only the husk of the grain removed.

I must try this. I tried making brown rice pudding with long grain brown rice, with disastrous results. Absolutely inedible! So I am eager to try this recipe (but without raisins. I don’t do raisins!)
That looks delicious!
I am going to try this with brown basmati rice…….as soon as my steel cut oats are out of the pot. Thanks for sharing.
How long does it take to cook if the brown rice variety usually takes 45 minutes on the stovetop?
I just made this and it turned out fabulously. I used currants instead of raisins as raisins are nasty. I doubled the recipebut not the honey and it was sweet enough. I did not have cream as i live out of town. I did use powered milk and was fine. I will definitely make this again.
I am excited to try this recipe. My husband is diabetic and loves rice pudding and I think he will love it😊
OMG this looks so tasty.
High or Low Pressure?
I followed directions and ended up with hard uncooked rice. What should I do differently?
