This Ground Beef Taco Bowl is as good as it gets. This is one of those recipes that has everything, flavor softness, a little bit of lime kick, crunch, melted cheese, and warm tortillas.
I mean, I’m pretty sure there’s nothing else you could ask for! Read on for the recipe for my favorite taco bowl I’ve ever made.
Another incredibly good thing about this recipe is that you actually don’t need a lot of time to make it! I mean this is super easy, almost hands-off cooking, and that’s something I really love!
The easiest way to make Beef Taco Bowl
Instead of filling each taco by hand, and cooking a bunch of ingredients in different pans (read, a lot of dishes to wash) you just place everything into your casseroles or baking dish. Take to the oven and let it work its magic.
When to Add Cheese, Cabbage & Cilantro
I like to top it with cheese, cabbage, and cilantro after it comes out of the oven.
In my opinion is what gives this the most taco like flavor + the cabbage stays crispy and fresh and not mushy and cooked, same with cilantro, it packs a whole lot more of flavor if you add it at the end instead of before baking.
Is It a Casserole or Just Tacos?
A casserole is a recipe that you cook all in one dish. So this really is a casserole. But, you fill each taco individually at the end. I think it is the easiest way to make tacos without making a lot of dishes dirty.
Another great thing about this recipe is that you can double the batch and then send the leftovers for lunch the next day.
No one has ever said no to tacos two times in a row am I right? But seriously you can use this filling over rice, over some lettuce for a Mexican salad, with more tortillas flour for a make your own taco lunch or even inside some sandwich bread.
This is the type of recipe you can cook once and eat for a couple of times. I like to fold the tortillas in half and place them on the side of the bake.
They get warm and look super cute. But you can also serve them on the side. Both options work just as good.
