DIY Nursery Letters

DIY Nursery Letters created by April Erhard of April Golightly

We received a sample of Lullaby Paint for review purposes only. All opinions are our own.

I wanted my daughter’s bedroom to have a customized feel, but did not want to spend a fortune buying letters. I have seen them cost from $10 to $60 a piece. Making them custom from the craft store is much cheaper. Since Camilla’s name is so long, there was no way I was going to spend even $10 a piece. I spent less than $2 per letter for this DIY project, and I have craft supplies left over to do other projects.

Pet Scarf DIY

Every time my puppy, Harrison Ford goes to the groomer her comes back with a cute scarf. Since I have been doing his grooming lately, I decided to make a pet scarf DIY. For my baby shower, I bought a pink polka dot fabric quarter from Joann Fabric. I know he is boy puppy, but boys can wear pink too! He looks very manly in his pink polka dot scarf! We made him a camo printed one that he has been wearing non-stop as well. I cannot wait to match the babies outfits to Harrison’s bandanas. The ability to buy fabric in quarters makes it really easy to make a ton of these pet bandanas.

Flower Crown DIY

I have noticed that flower tiara in a ton of different stores for spring. I love the idea of wearing a crown on just a regular day. I was walking around Joann’s Fabrics buying supplies for another DIY project and found myself drawn to the fake flower section. I decided to try to try my hand at a flower crown DIY. It came out just lovely and was very easy to accomplish. The details on how I made the tiara are below.

The Carrie Diaries Inspired DIY

I have been watching the Carrie Diaries since it came out.  It has filled the hole in my teen drama TV schedule  that the end of Gossip Girl created.  Naturally, it’s also spurred me on to re-watch Sex and the City.  I had forgotten how much I loved those 4 girls! The Carrie Diaries is not much like SATC, but it has lust-worthy fashion of the 80s that I miss. I could never imagine missing the 80s, but as with all fashion, there will always be a recycle of trends. Of course, there have been modifications of the 80s look. Carrie wears updated 80s clothing, but her co-stars wardrobe is straight out of the decade of indulgence.

Do It Yourself Silver Jeans

Metallic jeans are being sold for hundred of dollars in boutiques and online. I thought that I could get the look for next to nothing by doing it myself. I got the idea a few years ago from The Dandy Project. He made a pair of gold shorts, and his post helped me with this DIY project.

I found an amazing necklace this weekend that I liked so much that I bought two of them. One I kept as a necklace and the other I deconstructed into 9 super cute bracelets. I used 5 pearl beads to add some class to my pile of beads. They look great all together and mix with other arm candy. Stay tuned on other ways to wear these bracelets.
