Goodwill: Donate Stuff & Create Jobs!

Did you know that donating one bag of clothing and one bag of books can equal up to 2.3 hours of on-the-job training for someone in your community? Add to that a used lamp, a dusty computer and perhaps a box of DVDs and CDs, and that number nearly doubles to 5.2 hours! I am huge fan of Goodwill for finding awesome clothing pieces you just can’t find in retail stores. I go to other vintage stores here and there, but Goodwill is old reliable for me. The idea for this Jackson Pollock DIY came from a canvas that I picked up at Goodwill. I found these amazing St. John’s capris at Goodwill as well as these awesome plaid shorts.

Planet Beach Brickell

I met up with the Bloggin’ Mamasthis week to check out the Planet Beach Brickell. We were given one month free passes to try the place out in compensation for writing about our experience. Before the event, I was apprehensive about attending because I thought it was going to be a tanning place and I am so done with tanning beds. I was happy to find out that no tanning occurs at this Planet Beach in Brickell. They are all about repair and wellness. My kinda place! They do have spray tan and I am all for that! Expect me to be tan at some point in my next few posts because I am definitely trying out the spray tan. Time to start looking like a Floridian! Maybe being tan will motivate me to work out. What is the Jersey Shoe moto? Gym-Tan-Laundry? I have never seen the show, but I have heard it around town. Planet Beach Contempo Spa’s moto is Relax, Glow and Renew! Sounds like all the things I need to do right now. So far, I tried out the Hydro massager and the Luminous Facial with the blue light.

My sister, Bobbie is now officially in her mid-twenties. She is a recent FSU graduate who is working full-time and going to school at night to get a post-graduate degree. She recently had a birthday, and I was having trouble deciding what to get for her. I usually buy her “stuff.” She would always say that she wanted stuff for her birthday or Christmas. Now, that she is getting a little older, she is starting to like and need things that I like. I recently got the Justin Bieber Someday celebrity perfume and loved the smell and the bottle. I thought she might like it, as well. I found a gift set for the Someday celebrity perfume. It has perfume scented lotion and body wash as well as the perfume itself. At $19.88, it was a great addition to the other items that I purchased for my sister. I also bought her 2 pairs of capris and a top that can be worn from work to happy hour. As a working woman, these types of pieces are invaluable. Now, she smells good and looks good all day. Happy Birthday Bobbie!

2013 Tiny Prints Holiday Collection

Daylight Savings Baby Advice

My little one was consistently sleeping through the night for a few weeks and now as the time-change approaches I have not had a full nights sleep in days! I find that Cami sleeps better when she is dry overnight. Pampers recently came out with a superior dry diaper that is designed for overnight and to stay dry over a 12 hour period. She has yet to sleep 12 hours for me, but it will be nice to know that the diaper will hold up when she does. During time-change transitions such as End of Daylight Savings Time, Pampers Baby Dry Diapers has been helping smooth the transition.
