What are Sight Words?

These coloring pages use sight words to build on early reading skills. What are sight words and why are they important?

Sight words are words that you see so often that instead of sounding them out, they become memorized. Here are the sight words in this coloring sheet:

How to Use the Coloring Pages

These free printables are very self-explanatory with each color is matched with a word. It is like color by number, but instead color by sight word. You just color the words with their corresponding colors. This helps kids read their colors as well as the sight words.

We like to use these super fun markers to color these free printables. My daughter and I like to use the marker set to make coloring the pages what she calls a 3 marker challenge. It is really more than 3 markers, but that is what she likes to call it.

Since the marker set has multiple options for each color both pictures will look different in the end. For example, for pink, I pull out  of us pink markers and have my daughter choose the pink with her eye closed. At the end, the best picture wins!
