Just because you are on Keto doesn’t mean you have to give up your nachos! Make these Keto nachos and you’ll always be able to indulge those cravings.
Nachos on the Keto Diet
I think I just made my favorite Keto lunch. I’ll definitely be making this again!
It’s actually pretty easy to stick to the Keto diet. It just takes some meal planning. Make a list of all your favorite foods and snacks and make low-carb versions of them.
One of my favorite foods in the entire world is nachos. I love all the cheese, the meat, and all the spicy toppings. When I decided to get healthier and start eating low-carb I knew I had to find a way to keep indulging this craving or else I’d cave and eat the tortilla chips.
Read on to see how to make your own. I have the complete recipe at the bottom of this post.
How to Make Low-Carb Nachos
This is how I made my Keto nachos. Feel free to change things up and add different toppings. Always take care to count your carbs. Tomatoes are higher in net carbs than other veggies.
You will love the combination of spices I created. You could use them on sautéed bell peppers for another fantastic side dish later.

This is what you will need to make your own Keto nachos. If you purchase anything through these links, I’ll earn a portion at no extra cost to you. Thank you for your support!
- Baking sheet
- Parchment paper
- Large Skillet
- Wooden Spoon
Low Carb Ingredients
Feel free to change things up! But you will need to use these ingredients to make the nachos as I did.
- Keto chips
- Keto queso
- Ground beef
- Tomato paste
- Taco seasoning (I made my own to avoid hidden carbs)
How to Make Keto Nachos?
Here’s how to make your own amazing keto nachos. These are the perfect lunch, snack, Taco Tuesday meal, or fiesta party platter.
- In a large pan, cook the ground beef, breaking it up with a wooden spoon.
- After a bit of browning, add the taco seasoning and mix the beef in with it
- Mix the paste and water together, in a 1 to 1 mixture.
- Add the tomato paste and mix together with the beef. This will add some color to the meat
- Once cooked through, serve the meat on top of a pile of Keto Nacho Chips
- Drizzle Keto Queso onto the chips and beef, and enjoy!
How to Crisp Up and Keep Nachos Warm
There is another step you can do if you want to keep your nachos warm and crispy! Put a sheet of parchment paper on a baking sheet. Put the nacho chips and nacho cheese on the baking sheet.
Put the entire tray in the oven and let it bake for about 15 minutes at low heat, around 300 degrees.
Can you eat tortilla chips on Keto?
No, you cannot eat regular tortilla chips on Keto. They are made out of corn, which is a carbohydrate. I prefer to make my own cheese chips.
Not only do they have lower net carbs, but they are naturally gluten-free too.
Another low-carb option for nachos is to use pork rinds. They are high in fat, however. So don’t eat too many of them.
What is the serving size for Keto nachos?
I could probably eat an entire plate of nachos without even a second glance! But part of eating Keto is watching how many grams of carbs you consume so you can stay in Ketosis.
That’s why even with something low-carb like these, you need to watch your serving size.
A typical serving is about 8 nacho chips with toppings.
What kind of cheese can you use?
I made my own Keto queso. It is incredible! If you want, you can also make your own with shredded cheese too.
I found out though that shredded cheese doesn’t melt as well. Definitely check out my recipe for Keto queso, you will love it.
You can also top it with sour cream. But keep your fat intake in check. If you eat too much fat – even healthy fats – your body will burn the fat from the food instead of burning fat from your body.
This is perfectly alright if you are maintaining your weight. But if you are trying to lose weight it isn’t very helpful.
What are the best nacho toppings while on Keto?
I shared my favorite toppings for keto nachos in this recipe. But if you still want to add even more toppings, here are some l0w-carb and high-fat options that will keep you on track.
- Guacamole
- Pico de Gallo
- Jalapeños
- Chopped onions
- Cilantro
- Shredded lettuce
When to Serve Keto Nachos
Anytime is a good time for nachos! But here are some of the perfect places and times to serve and eat Keto nachos. They don’t taste like “diet food” so your non-dieting friends and family will never know the difference.
- Fiesta-themed parties
- Football tailgating

- Summer BBQs
- Pot-luck dinners
If you are looking for an easy cocktail to bring to a party that is low carb, check out White Claw. It has between 2 to zero carbs.
